MICHELLE PETERS

Michelle began training at Pam Rossi’s when she was 3 years old and is multi-talented in all styles of dance. She competed and performed on company at the studio for 14 years. She performed for many years with the Moorpark Civic Ballet, dancing many lead roles in “The Nutcracker” including Snow Queen, Dew Drop Fairy, and Sugar Plum Fairy. She also danced in the lead role of the duck in the children’s ballet “Peter and the Wolf.” Michelle went on to graduate from Moorpark College, then transferred to Chapman University, receiving a BS in Kinesiology with an Emphasis in Dance.

Michelle is a very strong and gifted tap dancer and has won many first place and Top Overall Senior Awards for her skillful and accomplished tap dancing.  While in college, she enjoyed performing and getting opportunities to chorograph in concerts for Moorpark College’s Dance Department, and received the departmental honor of “Most Inspirational Dancer” twice. At Chapman, she enjoyed performing and choreographing for the the tap program’s Happy Chappy Tappy Show under the direction of Brandee Lara, working with notable artists such as Sarah Reich, Melinda Sullivan, Maud Arnold, and Dante Lara. Michelle also performed and choreographed for Chapman’s Floor 13 Hip Hop Team. She has also performed with LA-based tap company Rithem Dance Company and worked on projects with LA Dance Moves.

Michelle aspires to eventually continue on with her education and earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and would love to one day serve the dance and arts community as a health care professional. She also plans to keep dancing and teaching, fulfilling a lifelong love she has developed. You can always count on her joyfulness and fantastic sense of humor.
